{"id":5701,"date":"2017-02-24T17:30:54","date_gmt":"2017-02-24T22:30:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mimbly.com\/wordpress\/?p=5701"},"modified":"2017-02-24T17:30:54","modified_gmt":"2017-02-24T22:30:54","slug":"butter-chicken-from-recipetineats-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mimbly.com\/wordpress\/2017\/02\/24\/butter-chicken-from-recipetineats-com\/","title":{"rendered":"Butter chicken from recipetineats.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mimbly.com\/wordpress\/?attachment_id=5702\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5702\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5702\" src=\"https:\/\/mimbly.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Chicken-22-300x176.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"176\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tbsp vegetable oil or ghee<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 cup Tomato Sauce<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tbsp sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\u00bc tsp salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 cup cream (full fat or light) OR for a lighter version use \u00be cup light cream + \u00bc cup milk (low fat) (I used this)\n<div class=\"ERSSectionHead\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"ERSSectionHead\">Marinade<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">\u00bd cup plain yoghurt, full fat<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tbsp lemon juice<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tsp tumeric powder<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 tsp garam masala<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">\u00bd tsp chili powder or cayenne pepper powder<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tsp ground cumin<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tbsp fresh grated ginger<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 garlic cloves, crushed<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1.5 lb \/ 750 g seitan, cut into bite size pieces<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"ERSSectionHead\">Curry<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tbsp vegetable oil or ghee (Note 3)<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 cup tomato passata or puree (also known as Tomato Sauce in America) (Note 4)<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tbsp sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\u00bc tsp salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 cup cream (full fat or light) OR for a lighter version use \u00be cup light cream + \u00bc cup milk (low fat) (I used this)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"ERSSectionHead\">To serve<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Rice<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Coriander\/cilantro (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Optional step: for an extra smooth sauce, combine the Marinade ingredients (except the chicken) in a food processor and blend until smooth.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Combine the Marinade ingredients with the chicken in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate overnight, or up to 24 hours.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Heat the vegetable oil over high heat in a large fry pan. Add the chicken coated in the Marinade and cook for around 3 minutes, or until the chicken is white all over (it doesn&#8217;t really brown because of the Marinade).<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add the tomato passata, sugar and salt. Turn down to low and simmer for 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Do a taste test to see if it needs more salt. Stir through the cream, then remove from heat.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Garnish with coriander\/cilantro leaves if using.
