It is a warming and deliciously comforting treat that has the added bonus of detoxing your body and adding much needed nutrients.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p>The superfoods in this soup are packed with antioxidants and fiber and aid with flushing toxins and, subsequently, fat from the body.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>1 medium sweet potato, peeled and cut into 1\/2&#8243; cubes<br \/>\n3 carrots, peeled and sliced<br \/>\n1 stalk celery, diced<br \/>\n1 small yellow onion, diced<br \/>\n2\u00a0cloves garlic, minced<br \/>\nPinch of Kosher or sea salt, more or less to taste<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon black pepper<br \/>\n1\/8 teaspoon allspice<br \/>\n1 teaspoon paprika<br \/>\n1 bay leaf<br \/>\n1 tsp cumin<br \/>\n1 tsp oregano<br \/>\n1 tsp marjoram<br \/>\n2 tbsp. chopped parsley<br \/>\n2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed (optional, navy beans)<br \/>\n6\u00a0cups vegetable broth<br \/>\n1 (14.5 oz.) can diced tomatoes (no salt added), *this is an optional ingredient<br \/>\n4 cups baby spinach or kale, loosely packed or use kale<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"bold\">Stovetop Method<\/span>:<\/strong>\u00a0prep veggies add to large pot, cover, and simmer until veggies are tender, approximately 45 min &#8211; 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes to prevent sticking. Add spinach or kale at the end of cooking time, remove from heat, cover and allow spinach to wilt before serving.
