{"id":2502,"date":"2013-12-14T10:53:44","date_gmt":"2013-12-14T15:53:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mimbly.com\/wordpress\/?p=2502"},"modified":"2013-12-22T12:48:34","modified_gmt":"2013-12-22T17:48:34","slug":"emerils-spiced-nuts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mimbly.com\/wordpress\/2013\/12\/14\/emerils-spiced-nuts\/","title":{"rendered":"Emeril&#8217;s Spiced Nuts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mimbly.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/photo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2528\" alt=\"photo\" src=\"https:\/\/mimbly.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/photo-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mimbly.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/photo-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mimbly.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/photo-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mimbly.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/photo-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/mimbly.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/photo.jpg 1632w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2 tablespoons butter<br \/>\n1\/4 cup light brown sugar<br \/>\n2 tablespoons water<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon ground cumin<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon cayenne<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n2 cups mixed nuts, such as walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts and almonds<\/p>\n<p>Mix spices and reserve.<\/p>\n<p>Heat nuts in a dry skillet and cook, stirring frequently, until begin to toast, about 4 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Transfer to a small bowl and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Add the butter, sugar, water and spices to the hot skillet and cook, stirring, until a glaze forms, about 1 minute.<\/p>\n<p>Return the nuts to the skillet and toss to combine with the glaze.<br \/>\nCook for about 1 to 2 minutes, or until the nuts are glazed and golden brown.<\/p>\n<p>Remove from the heat and transfer to a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, separating with a fork.<\/p>\n<p>Let rest until cooled and the sugar has hardened, about 10 minutes.<br \/>\nStore in an airtight container.<\/p>\n<p>NOTES from Kathryn: \u00a0<i>I let the pan cool a little after toasting the nuts &#8211; it is easy to burn the glaze.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>We use chipotle rather than cayenne.
